Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Blue and Gray Molded Pitcher with a Rabbit Hunt Scene.

It was made by the Whites Pottery of Utica, New York between 1890 and 1907 when Whites made its fabulous molded stoneware.

This beauty features Fancy Borders with Embossed Moldings Framing Detailed Grape Vines which Frame a Rabbit Hunt Scene.  The scene moves right to left beginning with two hunters on horseback, followed by a hunter on horseback with four hounds traversing a fence, and finishing with four hounds holding down a rabbit.  Fencing and trees provide the background.  The handle is no less ornate with a series of leaves and berries along its slender curve.  All the embossed decoration sports cobalt highlights.  Stands 9" tall.

I do not believe in 56 years of collecting that I have ever seen this pattern.

Exceptional Condition. As made.  No damage of any kind.  A small clay void below the spout in the making (closeup).  Looks like it just came off a shelf in a general store in upstate New York.

    Ships double-boxed, insured, and FREE.
