Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Stoneware 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jar whose decoration indicates that it was made in West Virginia.  
 
My attribution is Jane Lew, West Virginia.  
 
Circa 1875, this beauty features a Tooled Rim with a Straight Cobalt Stripe, Fancy Stenciled Floral,and a Wavy Cobalt Stripe Below.  Stands 9 1/4" tall.  
 
I have never seen this floral stencil, but the shape of the rim, color, and bottom stripe all speak Jane Lew to me.  
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
