Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Butter Crock made for "E. H. Thompson & Co., Watertown, N.Y."

This crock was made by the Whites Pottery of Utica, NY between 1890 and 1907 when they made their molded stoneware.  We have all seen the small crocks with stamped advertising that Whites made for the Heinz company of Pittsburgh.  But I have never seen a stamped advertising crock by Whites for any other merchant.  And you rarely ever seen stoneware from Watertown, N.Y.  Seeing this crock was a rush for me!

This beauty features the Merchant Advertising in Stamped 1" Fancy Molded Letters with Cobalt Fill. Measures 6 3/4" tall and 8 1/4" wide across the top.

Very Good Condition.  Four small chips inside the rim (1/4" to 3/8"), a 2" hairline from the rim on the right side not visible outside (closeup), very minor nibbles at the base.  No cracks, stains, or restoration.
