Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 2 Gallon Script Jug made for "N. K. and Co., Oneita Seltzer Water, Utica, N.Y." [Notice that Oneida is spelled wrong] 
 
It was made and stamped by N. A. White & Co., Utica, N.Y.  It is the work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery in Utica, N.Y. from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and Four Lines of Bright Cobalt Script that Wraps almost Halfway Around!  A very impressive presentation.  Stands 14 1/2" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" chip on the top of the spout. and some light staining on the shoulder.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Small kiln touch on the word "water" in the making. 
 
Perhaps the rarest and nicest Whites of Utica Merchant Jug that I have ever offered.
