Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 1 Gallon Jar made by "J. Eneix, New Geneva, PA. "
This is the mark of James Eneix who made stoneware in New Geneva for the brief period of 1874-1876 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 165).
This beauty features a Tooled Rim and Shoulder, Vine with Blossom and Clusters of Berries across the Shoulder, and the Company Advertising in a Paisley Shape and Enveloping a Center Leaf. Stands 10" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 1 1/2" chip on underside at the edge in the back. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A run of slip from inside on the right side in the making.
