Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 1 Gallon Stoneware Merchant Jar made for "Cheadle & Rogerson, Dealers in General Merchandise, Moundsville, W. VA." 
 
Circ 1880 and made in either Greensboro or New Geneva, PA, this beauty features Two Top and One Bottom Stripe that Frame Four Lines of Stenciled Advertising in an Fancy Swirl.  Stands 10" tall.
 
I can find no reference online to this pair of merchants on any stoneware or in any historical records.  
 
Very Good Condition.  A 1/4" chip under the rim and some scattered staining.  No top rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
