Item 11588
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Blue and White Pitcher in the Grazing Cow Pattern.
It was made by the A. E. Hull Pottery Company of Ohio in the early 1900's and was marketed as a "Dairy Jug."
This beauty features a Medallion with Two Grazing Cows on Each Side, with a Top and Bottom Rope and Scroll Border and a Rope Handle. Cobalt accent to the decoration. Strong and crisp mold lines too! (Terry Taylor and Terry and Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 52-54)
This pitcher came in 3 sizes, and this is the uncommon small 6 3/4" size. I have only seen 1 other that I sold 25 years ago.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. A small clay void on the back of one cow in the making.
