Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this great 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Burger & Lang, Rochester, N.Y."
This is the mark of John Burger, Jr., George Burger, and their brother-in-law, George Lang who ran the family's pottery under this stamp from 1867-1877 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
This beauty sports the Oval Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand "2" Capacity Number, and a Daisy Drawn with a Slip Cup. The daisy has five leaves with accent lines and a blossom with five petals. Measures 9 1/2" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. Hot spot by the left handle in the making.
