Item 11950
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this super 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "N. Clark, Jr., Athens, N.Y."
This is the stamp of Nathan Clark, Jr. of Athens, N.Y. who ran the family pottery from 1843-1891 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 66).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and fantastic Floral with Center Stem and Six Flower Blossoms. The cobalt is bright and shiny. On the light colored glaze, it really pops! Stands 13 12" tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. A kiln touch on the shoulder on the right side and two stone pings to the right of the handle in the making. Exceptionally clean example.
