Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made for the merchant, "I. H. Plecker, Staunton, VA."
Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim with a Groove to Pour the Hot Wax to Seal the Jar, and Two Lines of Stenciled Advertising, with an Arrow Between the Two Lines and Leaves at the Bottom. Stands 8 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition. A nibble and and two chips on the inner rim (3/16"), three nibbles and four chips outside the rim (1/4" to 1/2"), and a 1/2" chip at the base. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
