Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made for the merchant, "I. H. Plecker, Staunton, VA."
 
Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim for Ease of Tying a Cover Over the Top, and Two Lines of Stenciled Advertising, with an Arrow Between the Two Lines and Leaves Framing the Capacity Number. Stands 10 1/4" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the rim in the back, and two small chips on the body (1/4", 5/8").   That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
