Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 1 Gallon Jar made and stenciled by the "Palatine Pottery Co., Palatine, W.VA." (Modern Fairmont)
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Carefully Tooled Rim that Facilitates Tying a Cover Over the Top, Light Gray Glaze, and the Company Stencil Surrounding a Pear.  Obviously used to can pears! (bright huh!).   Stands 10 1/2" tall.
 
Very Good Condition.  Surface craze lines on the right side, probably from the making (closeup) and a kiln touch by the stencil in the making.  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
