Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful pair of Blue and White Spongeware Soap Dishes.
Dating to the late 19th century, these soap dishes were common in kitchens and with pitcher and bowl sets in bedrooms. They are typically shaped like these with 8 sides and two raised bars in the middle to raise the soap to dry. These have the addition of beautiful cobalt sponging. The larger one measures 5" by 3 1/4" and the smaller one 4 3/4" by 3".
Very Good Condition. Both have edge wear and small chips as shown. The larger one has some staining in the center. No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
