Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug stamped "North Bay."
This is the mark of John Waelde who ran the pottery in North Bay, New York from 1851 to 1875 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 70-71).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Cobalt Tulip with the Stem Created with a Slip Cup and the Blossom with a Brush. Strong cobalt on a light gray background clay for appealing contrast. Stands 12" tall.
Excellent Condition. Two 1/4" nibbles inside the spout. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Exceptionally clean.
