Item 11367

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "J. Burger, Jr., Rochester, N.Y."

This is the work of John Burger, Jr. who ran the pottery in Rochester from 1880-1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Flower created with a Slip Cup.  The flower has 3 fern-like leaves, the center one of which encases the 3 capacity number.  All the decoration is carefully shaded.  Measures 9 3/4" tall and 11 1/4" wide across the top.

Very Good Condition.  Some faint lines on the bottom, only one of which shows inside from the center to the edge and up 1" to the far left of the floral.  Some light staining on the bottom half.  No chips, cracks, or restoration.
