Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful early 1 Gallon Stoneware Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "N. Clark & Co., Lyons." 
 
This is the work of Nathan Clark who ran the pottery in Athens, New York and a satellite pottery in Lyons, New York from 1822 to 1852 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 66, 73). 
 
This beauty sports an Early Ovoid Form, the Pottery Stamp, and Brushed Cobalt "1" Capacity Number with Underscore.  Stands 11 3/4" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Three small chips on the underside at the edge not on the making (1/4" to 1/2").  That's it!  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
