Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "N. Clark, Jr., Athens, N.Y."

This is the stamp of Nathan Clark, Jr. of Athens, N.Y. who ran the family pottery from 1843-1891 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 66).

This beauty sports a Short and Squatty Form, Flared Spout, Round Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Gorgeous Large Tulip Decoration.  The brushed cobalt floral has multiple leaves and a large blossom-- all in strong and pretty cobalt that fills the front of the jug.   Stands 12" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A couple small, faint stains; some minor chips on the bottom groove of the extra fold in the base edge (closeup), and a chip on the center underside.  That's it!  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Exceptionally clean.
