Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot made and stamped by "N. Clark, Jr., Athens, N.Y."
This is the stamp of Nathan Clark, Jr. of Athens, N.Y. who ran the family pottery from 1843-1891 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 66).
This beauty sports a Cream Pot Form with Squared Rim, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and an Intricate Floral Executed with a Slip Cup. The floral spots two "tornado" stems and two dotted and striped leaves. Bright and shiny cobalt. Measures 7" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Visual Condition. Extraordinary professional restoration on the upper back and below the handle on the left side. Otherwise, as made.
