Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "N. A. White & Son, Utica, N.Y."
 
This is a work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and one of White's Signature Decorations: The Double Orchid Executed with a Slip Cup and Brush. The orchid has 2 leaves, two blossoms, and 4 buds.  The stem and the outline of the two blossoms are done with a slip cup and the rest of the decoration with a brush.  Gorgeous!  Measures 9" tall and 10 1/2" wide across the top.
 
Excellent Conditon. A couple small and light stains.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
