Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 5 Gallon Merchant Jug made for "The Mutual Drug Company, Wholesale Druggist, Cleveland, Sixth City, 'Where Service and Quality Count.'" 
 
This beauty was made and stamped on the back bottom by "Sherwood Bros. Pottery, New Brighton, PA."  This company was in business in the 1880's (Phil Shaltenbrande, Big Ware Turners, pp. 141-142).
 
This jug features a Large Size, Pottery Stamp, and 5 Lines of Stenciled Advertising.  Stands 19 1/2" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" sliver chip/rub inside the spout, a 3/4" chip on the back at the bottom, and a faint stain run on the left side.  No outer spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
