Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 3 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot made and stamped by "Mabbett & Anthone, Po'keepsie, N.Y."
This is the work of a short-lived partnership from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. that only lasted from 1837 to 1839 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 65).
This beauty features the Early Ovoid Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip and Capacity Number. The tulip sits sideways and fills the front. Measures 10 1/4" tall and 11" wide across the top.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. A 1/4" stone ping inside the rim in the making.
