Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by the "Lyons Co-operative Pottery Co. Limited."
This pottery was formed by former employees of the Jacob Fisher pottery in Lyons after it closed and was only in operation from 1902 to 1904 or 1905 (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900 (pp. 367-368).
The jug was made for "Chas. Person's Sons, 390 & 392 Elm St., Buffalo, N.Y."
This beauty sports a Larger Size, the Pottery Stamp on the Shoulder, and Four Lines of Rich Cobalt Script Advertising. The jug has a strong visual impact! Stands 14" tall.
Very Good Condition. Some chipping on the spout and base edge. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
