Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Imposing 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA."
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Larger 2 Gallon Size, and the Company Advertising Framed by Ferns in the Four Corners and Small Flowers in the Center. Stands 14 3/4" tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. Kiln furniture marks on the shoulder in the making.
