Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "J. Fisher, Lyons, N.Y." [first line not impressed]
This is the work of Jacob Fisher who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp, Freehand Capacity Number "2", and the Town Name in Cobalt Script with Tornado Underscore. Measures 9" tall and 10 1/2" wide across the top.
Good Condition. A sideways T-shaped hairline behind the left handle (closeup) and some staining from use. No chips, cracks, or restoration. A 1" chip on the very top of the rim in the making.
