Item 7876
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this monumental 6 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Evan R. Jones, Pittston, Pa."
Jones potted in Pittston in the 1870's and 1880's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 34-37).
This beauty features a Large Size, Rolled Rim, Tooled Shoulder Banding, Applied Handles, and a Scruptious Quadrupal Floral that Fills the Front. The floral features 9 leaves from which 4 stems spring to hold four blossoms of 4 petals. I have never seen this particular floral on stoneware before. Very appealing by its very simplicity. Measures 13" tall and 13" wide across the top.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind (Really!)
