Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is a rare 1/2 Gallon Preserve Jar made for "Leslie & Blaisdell, Importers and Dealers, Crockery, Glass Ware, Stoneware Ware & Furniture, Potsdam, N.Y."
Written on the bottom in pencil is "Aunt Alida's Bean Pot, Stoneware Co. at Potsdam, N.Y. 1837"
Dating around 1830-1840, this beauty features 5 Lines of Detailed Impressed Advertising with reference to "Crockery" and "Stoneware." Albany slip glaze. Stands 6 3/4" tall.
Excellent Conditon. Small nibbles around the inner rim where a lid sits. That's it! No top rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
As you know, early advertising from upstate New York with this much detail is very hard to find!
