Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."   
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Finely Tooled Grooved Rim, Slightly Canted Sides, and the Company Advertising in Bright Blue.  Stands 8 1/2" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Chipping inside the rim on the back side, some of which is in the making and glazed over.  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
