Item 12167

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 gallon Stoneware Jar from Baltimore, Maryland.

The flower with the circle between the stem and the blossoms makes a probable attribution to Mauldine Perine or his former associate, William Linton of Baltimore, Maryland.  Perine and sons worked in stoneware from approximately 1827 to after 1900 and Linton made stoneware from 1845 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).

Dating around 1850, this beauty features Three Vertical Flowers with a stem of four leaves, with two having an Open Tulip Blossom and one having a Bud.   Bright cobalt blue on a light gray glaze for strong contrast.  Stands 8 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A flat 1/4" chip on top of the rim and a 7/8" chip at the base.  That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
