Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."   
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Finely Tooled Grooved Rim, Slightly Canted Sides, and the Company Advertising in a Paisley Shape in the Midst of Vining.  Stands 9 1/2" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Minor nibbles and two 1/8" chips on the inner rim, two chips inside the outer rim (1/4", 3/8"), and a 1/2" chip on the bottom in the back that is partially in the making.  That's it!  No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
