Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jjug made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Manufacturers, Greensboro, PA."  
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features the Company Advertising in a Paisley-Shaped Label Outlined by Vining. Stands 11 3/4" tall   
 
Excellent Condition.  Very minor nibbles on the spout. That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Mottled glaze and small kiln touch on the far left of the stencil in the making.
