Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Manufacturers, Greensboro, PA."   
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Finely Tooled Grooved Rim, Slightly Canted Sides, and the Company Advertising in a Paisley Shape Framed by Fine Vining.  All the decoration is crisp and complete.  Stands 8" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Minor nibbles and three 3/8" chips on the inner rims and some minor wear to the lettering.  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
