Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "F. J. Caire, Huntington, L.I." (partial stamp).

 

This is the work of Frederick J. Caire who ran the pottery in Huntington from 1854-1863 (William J. Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 64).

 

This beauty features a Beehive Shape, Pottery Stamp, and Two Brushed Cobalt Tulips Poised on a Stem and Sheltering 13 Berries.  I believe this is a hybrid! Stands 11 3/4" tall. 

 

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A minor 1" firing line on the back bottom in the making.
