Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Redware Lidded Tobacco Jar.  
 
The original label on the bottom says, "J.G. Dill, Factory No. 25, Second District, Richmond, Virginia.  Notice- The manufacturer of this Tobacco has complied with all the requirements of law. Every person is cautioned, under the penalty of law, not to use this package for Tobacco again.
 
This beauty is Molded in 9 Panels with Molded Tobacco Leaves Around the Middle and on the Lid.  Glazed in various shades of brown.  The lid has a hollow on the underside to hold a wet sponge to keep the tobacco moist, and the sponge is still intact.  Stands 6 1/4" tall.  
 
Very Good Condition.  Glaze wear around the top and parts of the middle of the jar, and knob and edge of the lid.  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Some of the paper label is worn off.
