Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "J. Fisher, Lyons, N.Y."
This is the work of Jacob Fisher who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp, Freehand Capacity Number "2", and Brushed Cobalt Tulip with 4 Leaves and a Large Bud. Stands 13" tall.
Very Good Condition. A few glaze flake below the flower to the right (closeup) and some staining near the bottom, mainly in the back. No spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. The small chip on the bottom front is in the making and glazed over.
