Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "J. & E. Norton, Bennington, VT."   
 
This is the work of Julius Norton and his cousin, Edward Norton who worked in Bennington using this mark from 1850-1859 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp, 42).  
 
This beauty features a Larger Size, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Classic Norton Double Floral Decoration Executed with a Slip Cup Using Dark and Shiny Cobalt.  Stands 14 3/4" tall.
 
Very Good Condition.  Some scattered light staining, a 1/4" chip on top of the spout, and a clever 1/2" hole restoration to the right of the decoration that looks like a kiln touch in the making (closeup). No base chips, hairlines, or cracks.
