    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "J. Darrow & Son." 

     

    This is the work of John Darrow of Baldwinsville, New York who made stoneware from 1852-1876 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 70).

     

    This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, a "1" Capacity Number with Underscore, and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip Blossom.  All the cobalt is bright and shiny. Stands 11" tall.  

     

    Good Condition.  A 1/2" line on each side of the spout and some hairlines on the left side bottom what wrap under as a Y line.  No spout or base chips, stains, or restoration.  Stone ping on the right side in the making.
