Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "Haxstun, Ottman & Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."
 
This is the stamp of Andrew K. Haxstun and William and Gilbert Ottman who ran the company from 1867-1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68).
 
This beauty features a Larger Size, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Bird Poised on a Fancy Dotted Branch.  The bird is expertly drawn with a slip cup and enjoys 25 individual feathers.  He measures 8 3/4" from the tip of his beak to the tip of his tail.   Measures 10 1/4" tall and 11" wide across the top. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Two chips inside the rim (1/2", 1 1/4"), a 1/2" flake outside the rim, and a flat 1" flake on the back bottom.  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
