Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Haxstun & Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."
This is the work of Andrew K. Haxstun who ran a pottery in Fort Edward from 1875 to 1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68).
This beauty features a Smaller Size, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Stylized Floral Bouquet. The cobalt is bright and shiny. Measures 9 1/4" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. Three chips inside the rim (1/4" to 1/2"), a narrow 1/2" chip on the underside at the edge, and a 3/8" chip on the right handle. No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
