Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped by "Harrington & Burger, Rochester."
This jar is the work of Thompson Harrington and John Burger who worked together in Rochester, N.Y in the old Nathan Clark pottery from 1851 to 1854 when Burger bought out Harrington (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, p. 377).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Large, Bright Cobalt Daisy with 5 Leaves, Two Buds, and an Open Blossom. Stands 11 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A narrow 2" edge chip on the right side toward the front (closeup), and a stain on the back. No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
