Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this early 1 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Goodwin & Webster, Hartford."
This is the work of Horace Goodwin and Mack Webster who ran the pottery in Hartford, Connecticut from 1831-1840 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 60-61).
This beauty features the Early Ovoid Form with Reeded Spout, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Cobalt Accent at the Bottom Handle Terminals. Stands 12" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 3/8" chip on the back of the spout, a narrow 1" chip on the footer in the back, and some light staining from use. No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
