Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Larger 3 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Goodwin & Webster."
This is the work of Horace Goodwin and Mack Webster who ran the pottery in Hartford, Connecticut from 1831-1840 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 60-61).
This beauty features an Ovoid Form, Larger Size, and the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash. Stands 16 1/4" tall.
Good Condition. A 1 1/2" chip on the front of the spout and a 1" chip and tight 4 1/2" vertical hairline beside it on the bottom of the right side (closeup),and 1/4" drill hole for a lamp on the back bottom. No cracks, stains, or restoration.
