    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this early 2 Gallon Ovoid Jar made and stamped by "Goodwin & Webster."


    This is the work of Horace Goodwin and Mack Webster who ran the pottery in Hartford, Connecticut from 1831-1840 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 60-61).


    This beauty features the Early Ovoid Form with Flared Rim and Handles Up Near the Top, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Additional Cobalt on the Handle Terminals.  Stands 13 1/2" tall.


    Good Condition.  A 1 1/4" chip on the front of the spout, an 8" surface-only line on the back not seen inside (closeup, and a flat 2" chip on the underside at the edge).  No inner rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Stone ping on the front rim and 1" chip on the base- both in the making.
