Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar whose decoration indicates it was made by the Black Pottery of Somerfield, Pennsylvania.
George and Albert Black ran the pottery in Somerfield in the 1860's and 1870's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 105-106).
This beauty feature a Wide and Flared Rim and a Garland of Brushed Cobalt Florals that Look like Deer Tracks. There are seven florals around the middle in rich and dark cobalt. Stands 9 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A couple pinhead-size nibbles on the bottom ring of the tooled rim. That's it! No inner im or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
