Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful decorated 1/2 Gallon Jar attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Dating about 1850, this beauty features a Rounded Rim, Tooled Shoulder, and a Brushed Cobalt Garland of Leaves and Flower Buds. The garland is composed of 4 leaves and 8 buds. Stands 8 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Minor nibbles on the bottom edge on one side. No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
