Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware Merchant Wax Sealer Canning Jar made for "G. A. McCarthey & Bro., Maysville, KY."
This merchant jar was made in Greensboro, Pennsylvania by one of the Hamilton Potteries (probably James).
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Grooved Rim for Pouring in the Sealing Wax and the Company Advertising in Five Lines with Leaf Accents. Stands 8" tall.
Very Good Condition. Three chips on the underside at the edge (1/4", 1/4" 1") and some surface wear from use. No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
