Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug with Daisy made and stamped by "F. B. Norton Sons, Worcester, Mass."
This is the mark of Franklin Norton's Two Eldest Sons, Myron and John, who made pottery together in Worcester with this stamp from 1886-1894 ("The F. B. Norton Pottery: Stoneware of Every Description." Worcester Historical Museum, 1980-1981).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Large Daisy Up the Front Created with a Slip Cup. The decoration is bright and shiny. Stands 13 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 3/16" chip on the right side of the spout, and some light staining near the base. That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Some fine bubbles in the thicker part of the cobalt in the making.
