Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Early 2 Gallon Stoneware Ovoid Jar whose form and decoration indicate that it was made by Clarkson Crolius, Sr. who made pottery in New York City from 1800 to 1838 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 62).

 

This beauty features a Ovoid Form, Carefully Tooled Rim, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accent at the Terminals, and a Clusters of Grapes on One Side and a Bowknot on the Other.  Stands 11 1/4" tall.  

 

Very Good Condition.  Three chips on the rim (5/8" to 7/8") and some light staining.  That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
