Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this cute 1 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "E. & L. P.. Norton, Bennington, VT ."
This is the mark of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1861-1881 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 44).
This beauty features a Strong Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and Freehand Leaf Decoration. Measures only 7" tall and 8 1/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Two 1/4" chips inside the rim, and a few small, isolated light stains from use. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
