Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Ovoid Jug from NE Ohio. 
 
It was a presentation piece for "Philip Miller" in 1854.  
 
This beauty features the Early Ovoid Form, Freehand Capacity Number "3" Flanked by 7 Dashes, a Brushed Cobalt Sideways Tulip with 2 Leaves and Blossom with 5 petals and 13 dots, and the Name and Date in Script.  Stands 15".  
 
Exceptional Condition. As made.  No damage of any kind.  Glaze spalling and 1 1/2" firing line in the back bottom in the making.
