Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this cute 1 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "E. & L. P.. Norton, Bennington, VT ."
This is the mark of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1861-1881 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 44).
This beauty features a Small Size, Strong Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Freehand Leaf Decoration. Measures only 7" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.
Great for decorating since it fits on most shelves.
Good Condition. Two 1/2" chips inside the rim, a 3/4" chip outside the rim in the back, and a 1/4" chip on the right handle. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
